Berglauf-Weltmeisterschaft 2017

Bei den 17. Berglauf-Weltmeisterschaften der Senioren/in im slowakischen Pruske in der Weißen Tatra gelegen haben auch zwei Läufer des TV Geiselhöring teilgenommen. Die für eine Senioren-Meisterschaft anspruchsvolle Bergstrecke mit 9,6 km Länge und 601 Höhenmeter galt es zu bewältigen. Vom Start weg ging es einen Kilometer auf Asphalt durch Pruske ehe dann auf einem ansteigenden Schotterweg die Bergstrecke in Angriff genommen wurde. Es wechselten sich steigende Wald-und Wiesenwege mit giftigen Berganstiegen ab. Einen Kilometer vor dem Ziel wurde den Läufer/in bei einen abschüssigen Grasshang die letzten Körner geraubt, ehe es zum Zieleinlauf ging. Bei idealem Laufwetter wurden die Rennen altersklassenmäßig im 30 Minuten Abstand gestartet. Im Lauf 1 der AK M65 belegte Toni Gorbunow  bei kluger Laufeinteilung einen guten 12. Platz in der Zeit von 56:52 min und war dritter Deutscher im Ziel. Durch die geänderte Regel dass eine Mannschaft aus nur zwei Läufer statt wie bisher drei besteht, verpasste Toni die Bronzemedaille. Im Lauf zwei der AK M60 war das größte Teilnehmerfeld. Hier belegte Willi Mayerhofer einen ausgezeichneten 18. Platz und war im Einlauf vierter Deutscher Läufer im Ziel in der Zeit von 55:05 min. Die nächste WM findet in Slowenien statt und alle Läufer/in hoffen das man wieder auf Mannschaften mit 3 Teilnehmer umstellt.
